Gnomes are the least populous of the civilized races of Arcur, with numbers only a fraction that of Humans or Stone Dwarves. This is partially because they are natives to only a smaller island between the two large continents of Arcur, and their insular culture leads them to only very rarely leave home. Gnomes are one of the most magically skilled races in the world, and their penchant for innovation and invention has led to them becoming the foremost designers of wondrous items and small arcane gadgets in Arcur. They are innovators in the fields of alchemy, and have used this knowledge to harness arcane energies into unique weapons and vehicles that they almost never share with the outside world to prevent others from seizing their resources. Lastly, Gnomes were the first to design magically animated constructs, which they use to supplement their military to make up for their less than combat-ready builds. Gnomes rarely leave the city-island of Mostiyr, leaving only if they have failed at trade and business there to try their luck elsewhere in the world. Gnomes are the least likely to become adventurers of all the civilized races of the world for relatively obvious reasons, but a few gnome spellcasters have found fame and fortune in such ways.

Gnomes stand three to three and a half feet tall with skin color ranges from dark tan to woody brown. Their hair is fair, and their eyes can be any shade of blue. Gnomes often dress and trim their hair in extravagent, eccentric ways, often decorating their clothes with intricate stitching or fine jewelry.
